Colony Days Bed Race Form
Yes, That's Right - Palmer is the proud home of the Annual Colony Days BED RACE sponsored by MIDAS! A team of 5 decorate a bed on wheels and actually race it in downtown Palmer. This year our races will be held on Friday, June 13th at 6:30 pm at the Visitor Center. The final Championship race will be held Saturday, June 14th at 10:30 AM in front of the Depot.

Friday Flings - May 16 - August 15, 2008
Location: Downtown Palmer Pavillion Area.
Farmer's, Crafter's and Landscaper's Market is held every Friday through August 15 in downtown Palmer. This weekly market features Valley produce, arts and crafts booths along with live entertainment in historic downtown Palmer. 11:00am-6:00pm VENDORS call 761-3500 for Information. This community picnic is hosted by Palmer businesses, The City of Palmer, and the Palmer Chamber of Commerce. Enjoy Palmer Pride hotdogs, farm fresh veggies, live music, and Citizen of the Year award.
Friday Flings - Veggies In Motion through Aug. 17th
The Friday Flings Farmer’s Market is open across from the Visitor Center from 11 to 6 each Friday through August 17th sporting the Veggies In Motion theme. With support from the Mat Su Health Foundation this theme focuses on healthy eating and living.
"Walk About Palmer" - sign up, get a pedometer, water bottle and a weekly incentive prize from local merchants. Maps showing three walking loops of various durations are available. At the end of the summer, a grand prize will be awarded to the walker with the most Friday steps.
Prizes included a three month gym membership at the Alaska Express Club in Palmer, and a summer subscription of fresh Valley vegetables from the Kenley farm.
The last healthy living component of the Market is scheduled for late July or early August - depending on how the fish are running. At the Great Salmon Giveaway, they’ll be fresh BBQ to sample and more information about how to eat healthy. Stay tuned for updates on this event.

Colony Christmas "Rockin' Round the Christmas Tree" - December 7-9, 2007
Location: Palmer
Friday Dec 7-Sunday Dec 9, 2007. Join us for an old-fashioned Colony Christmas celebration with nearly 200 craft vendors, horse-drawn wagon rides, reindeer petting, pictures with Santa, and our annual fireworks display. Friday night is the bonfire. Craft Fairs on Friday and Saturday. AKRR Colony Christmas Train will arrive on Saturday at approximately 1:30 pm. Be there to help greet our visitors!
